Outdoor Entertaining
Entertaining in the outdoors is the new normal and we are here for it. Many of our clients are looking for ways to adapt their current spaces to create an experience for their friends and family - think shade, ambiance, and fun features. How do we create the perfect outside entertaining space?
Seating
Style is key, but comfort is equally important. Don’t underestimate the ability to easily move furniture in and out of the blazing sun. Lightweight and movable furniture makes your space more user-friendly.
Urbanist William Whyte says, “The possibility of choice is as important as the exercise of it. If you know you can move if you want to, you feel more comfortable staying put.”
Shade + Cover
If your outdoor space is exposed, some form of shade is welcome. Umbrellas, awnings, pergolas, and gazebos are all ways to bring shade into your space. Rain or shine, providing cover for your friends and family is an important element of entertaining in the garden.
Five Senses
Think of adding items to your garden that celebrates each of the five senses. Fragrance near walking paths and doorways, water features for sound, moss rocks and lamb’s ears for touch, and edible plants like nasturtiums for a quick nibble.
No matter how big or small your outdoor space, we have tricks to make every garden interesting, magical, and cozy. With thoughtful planning, you can create a garden that delights your guests.
